I finished my last final today. Four exams later, I am a free man. Unfortunately I think I did the worst in this term in my years so far. Although two exams were a cinch, the other two were brutal. I am not sure I did well, or even satisfactory, on those two. What irked me the most was that one of the tough exams was my core course astronomy 303. I, like a few others in our tiny class consisting about a dozen students (astronomy is a path less traveled), was getting good marks overall in everything else. It is my passion after all. But then the professor gives us a cruel final, in which he explicitly stated in an e-mail right after the exam: “Getting more than 70-75 should be quite difficult: you should be very proud of yourself if that is the case.” In other words, he does not want give out As in the final! My overall average will probably dwindle again, as it always has. Sigh…
