Akiha Tohno Figure – Melty Blood Series III version

Box front. Box back.
Figure front. Figure back.
Figure left. Figure right.

Akiha Tohno has long flowing hair, sharp eyes, an angular face, and slender limbs. She also drinks tea, plays the violin, possesses an adamant heart, and maintains an aura of elegance. Sharing similarities with Shinku, Akiha is my kind of women. In other words, she is, in the truest sense of the word, a lady. When I first encountered her in the anime (It was decent. Admit its existence!), I took a strong liking to her. And consequently, her storyline was my favorite in the visual novel. Even today, Akiha Tohno ranks very high on my list of top females in fiction. To display some of my appreciation for Akiha, I bought a figure of her.
This figure manufactured by MegaHouse stands at about twenty-one centimeters tall. It bears a convincing resemblance to Akiha in other mediums, and the strongest resemblance to the Akiha in the Melty Blood fighting games, which is what this figure was modeled after. As usual, there are some minor imperfections, such as blemishes and uneven spots on the surface of the skirt, and a small area on the hair where the paint is chipped away. These are likely statistical defects arising from mass production. Unfortunately, there is one glaring flaw. Ideally, when the base cylindrical protrusions firmly embed into the holes in the soles of the shoes, the figure should stand upright. But this figure leans way too forward when both feet are fully connected to the base. To attain a somewhat natural standing posture, I completely attached the left foot to elevated triangular bump and only allowed the holes under the right foot to rest on the protrusions. But this leaves the figure somewhat unstable. I suspect the elevated triangular bump for the left foot has too high of a slant. MegaHouse’s Akiha Tohno is the fifth figure in my collection.
