Gosick after episode 02 – First Impressions

Why are teachers in anime always so attractive? Elementary my dear Kujo.
Whatcha staring at? Got a problem with my hair? I wanna pinch those cute cheeks of hers...

The first thing that came to my mind after watching Gosick is, gee, Victorique really reminds me of Shinku: small stature, blonde hair, an unimpressed voice. Aside from the obvious physical similarities between the two, both Victorique’s and Shinku’s personalities are defined by prestige, both exuding an aura of mature elegance. But yet they possess a degree of naivety and innocence about the world, and it is this adorable flaw that offsets their arrogant facade, and makes these characters a lot more likable than full on pretentious high-class ladies such as Cecilia in Infinite Stratos, or Selnia in Ladies versus Butlers.
Victorique herself is reason enough to follow Gosick.
