Jormungand after episode 01 – First Impressions

I saw the first episode of Jormungand, and I rather liked it. While the animation was less than impressive, it has an entertaining mix of action, humor, intrigue, and characters. The subject matter reminds me of the film Lord of War, which I absolutely love. I hope Jormungand can treat the political, economical, and moral themes and consequences of gunrunning as articulate as the film did. If not, well, at least there will be firearms, pretty ladies, and lots of explosions if the first episode is any indication.
Speaking of pretty ladies, it is interesting to note that the two main protagonists, Koko and Jonah, are near polar opposites in personality. Koko is the very definition of a vivacious woman, and Jonah is as stoic as a statue. The pairing certainly facilitates comedy between the two.
