Psycho-Pass after episode 01 – First Impressions

I just watched the first episode of Psycho-Pass, and it exceeded my expectations. It is unabashedly cynical, moody, and violent. As a fan of the Max Payne series, it pushes all the right buttons for a noir detective show. I get the feeling that Psycho-Pass‘s system of using criminals to find criminals is inviting inevitable trouble. I wouldn’t be surprised if it became an important plot device later in the show. Anyways, an impressive first episode as my token gritty intrigue anime of the season.
